sisterhood of the traveling...sisters

My sister, Val, and I share two similar passions: travel and photography. She just graduated from Grove City College (yayy!!) in May and had a free month in between graduation and when she started her job. Of all the things she could have done with this free month, Val chose to spend it living with Josh and me. Such a blessing!! We decided to take a southeastern road trip of sorts. This road trip consisted of driving, hiking, flying, sight seeing, bonding, service work, and taking TONS of pictures. Here's a little snip-it of our great adventure...

Day 1: Asheville
We left early Thursday morning and made the short, 2 hour drive to Asheville, NC. This little hippy town is right up our alley. It's filled with little boutiques, art galleries, bicycles, tattoos, and yummy cafes. Before we went into town, though, we spent the morning hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We saw so many beautiful flowers and plants...the mountains just scream of God's creativity.

After our hike, we went into town, where we shopped, ate, and listened to an outside band while watching people play hackey-sack.

Towards the end of the night, we spent some time talking to a guy who had been in jail twice and is only 20 years old. He was such a sweet kid with an imaginative spirit, and he welcomed a conversation about Christ. How good is God!? Well, that was Day 1 of our road trip in a nutshell. LOVE Asheville.
